My name is David Liu and I am the founder of Share Our Speech. My mission had always been simple: to create resources and help document endangered languages.

My fascination with endangered languages and linguistics roots back to my love for public speaking. As a teenager, I’ve competed in multiple state and national level competitions for Mock Trial and Speech and Debate; the skills I have picked up from debating in front of judges and speaking in front of others had a huge impact on my interest in language elicitation. I wanted to use my public speaking abilities to connect deeply with speakers of endangered languages in order to broaden my understanding and knowledge. Share Our Speech hopes to connect with native speakers in order to furnish materials dedicated to endangered languages.

I believe language is a fundamental pillar in our lives. Share Our Speech exists to create the resources necessary to uphold the pillar of languages with few native speakers as well as connecting with individuals through elicitation and public speaking.
